FIAT The Surrender of Our Lady

"Behold The Handmaid of the Lord, Let it be Done Unto Me According to your Word."

Catholic T-shirt Club - October Theme FIAT

Words which were spoken so long ago, yet they are repeated daily among clergy and practicing Catholics all over the world at least three times a day. The Angelus is a beautiful prayer to be daily devoted to. At it's core, we experience the moment of FIAT, the surrender of Our Lady's will to God's Will. The moment that she was presented with a life altering choice and she choose God's will entirely over her own. Over her comforts, over her expectations, even choosing God's Will over her own body.
It was through this continued surrender that Our Lady would, with Christ, eventually make the greatest sacrifice of all time: sacrificing her own Son on the cross.
Imagine the difficulty of this sacrifice. We are each called to sacrifice our own desires up to God, and sometimes these desires are holy, and sometimes they are not. But Mary had to sacrifice a future she hoped for, She had to give up the presence of her own Son, God Himself, the greatest Good that has ever walked this earth. She had to surrender her wishes, wants, and desire to keep her son close to her; and give that up to the Father. Sacrificing even her own desires at the Cross of Christ.

Saint Thérèse had enormous desires. She wanted to be a missionary, a martyr, an apostle, and finally discovered that her true vocation was to simply be Love in the heart of the Church. Yet her life remained almost entirely hidden within the walls of Carmel. She did not respond by making her desires smaller. She stopped measuring what God could accomplish by the smallness of the person offering herself to Him.
To expect everything from God does not mean expecting a comfortable life or receiving every outcome we desire.
Thérèse experienced sickness, disappointment, misunderstanding, physical agony, and a profound trial of faith near the end of her life. Her confidence was not built on pleasant feelings or easy circumstances. It rested on the merciful love of God, even when she could no longer feel the consolation of that love. During this darkness, she continued to practice the greatest love through the smallest acts of daily life.
To expect everything from God means to expect mercy when we fall, strength for the work He gives us, grace for the weakness we cannot overcome alone, and holiness from the One who alone can make us holy.
Celebrate the life of Saint Therese of Lisieux with the - Saint Therese abide Tee! -
(Available in colors Blue Spruce and Berry)

To Jesus Through Mary

Tomorrow begins the month of the Holy Rosary, the perfect time to pick up our rosaries and commit to praying it a little extra every day this month. Who’s with me!

The Rosary is such a powerful meditative tool that offers more spiritual promises than any other prayer. But besides looking for promises and benefits for ourselves, the rosary beautifully provides for us the perfect roadmap to mediatate on the life of Christ, which is where true transformation lies. By placing yourself mentally next to the manger, adoring the Christ child, or mentally imagining the crucifixion, placing your thoughts next to the wounded feet of Christ, right next to Mary. This kind of prayer can build in us a profound love for God, and lead to even deeper levels of prayer, as God allows.

So let’s pray! Lock it into your heart and commt to pray every day, then get our Holy Rosary T-shirt, on sale for $20, this week only!

These tees are printed on our new Next Level tees, or you can find them in 100% cotton Comfort Colors in that section of our website!

I pray that you have a blessed and holy month of the Holy Rosary!

¡Viva Cristo Rey!
Blessed Miguel Pro Tees - Available For a Limited Time
An image added to the post.
Blessed Miguel Pro was a Catholic priest in Mexico during a time when the government was actively persecuting the Church, closing churches and making it illegal for priests to publicly carry out their ministry. But Fr. Pro kept going. He celebrated Mass in secret, heard confessions, brought the Eucharist to people, and even used disguises to move around without being caught.
Eventually he was arrested and sentenced to death. On November 23, 1927, he stood before the firing squad, stretched out his arms in the form of a cross, and gave one final proclamation of faith:
¡Viva Cristo Rey!
"Long Live Christ the King!"

There is something phenominal about that image of Blessed Miguel standing before the firing squad. The Mexican government intended images like this to strike fear into those who continued to practice Catholicism. Instead, they had the opposite effect. People rallied around his witness, and his final cry, “Viva Cristo Rey!”, has echoed through the Church ever since.
Miguel Pro wasn’t a soldier or a revolutionary. He was a priest who simply refused to stop bringing Jesus Christ to people in his community, even when doing so could cost him everything.
It’s a pretty simple message.
Christ is King. Yesterday, today, and no matter what the world around us decides to do.
